1. Scope

  • JPXL Records accepts release materials from Users for review, preparation and delivery to digital distribution through available aggregators and digital platforms.
  • The list of available platforms is determined by the Operator and aggregator partners and may change without prior notice.
  • Publication of a release is not guaranteed: the final decision depends on whether the materials meet requirements, platform rules, and the absence of legal restrictions.

2. Technical requirements

  • Audio files: WAV or FLAC, sample rate of at least 44,100 Hz, bit depth of at least 16 bit, free from clipping and DC offset.
  • Artwork: JPEG or PNG, minimum 3,000 × 3,000 pixels, square format, no digital platform logos, no contact information embedded in the image.
  • Metadata must be complete, accurate and non-misleading: artist name, release title, track title, year, genre, language, and all contributors (composers, performers, producers).
  • Failure to meet technical requirements is grounds for returning a release for revision.

3. Catalog codes

  • For a new release, catalog codes and track identifiers may be assigned by JPXL Records or the distribution partner.
  • When transferring a previously released title, the User may provide existing catalog codes and track identifiers if they were legitimately assigned and belong to that specific release.
  • The User is responsible for the accuracy of any codes provided and for the absence of conflicts with a previous rights holder, distributor, or aggregator.
  • Changing codes after a release is live may require a takedown and re-delivery, resulting in additional lead time.

4. Rights confirmation

  • Before submitting a release, the User confirms: that they hold all copyright and related rights, or valid licences, covering every element of the release; that no third-party rights restrict distribution; and that no trademarks, names, likenesses, or samples are used without the necessary permissions.
  • The User authorises JPXL Records and its partners to deliver the release to the agreed digital platforms under the chosen collaboration model.
  • In the event of legal or pre-legal proceedings, the User must provide supporting documents (agreements, licences, split sheets, etc.) within 5 business days.

5. Moderation

  • JPXL Records reviews metadata, audio, artwork, contributor credits, genre, rights confirmations, technical parameters and timelines.
  • A release may be returned for revision with notes. Notes must be addressed by the User within a reasonable time; unresolved notes may lead to rejection of the release.
  • A release may be suspended or rejected if there is suspicion of third-party rights infringement, non-compliance with platform rules, or violation of applicable law.

6. Timelines

  • Publication timelines depend on the date a release is accepted, platform requirements, and aggregator processing speed.
  • Users must allow for platform pre-order windows: typically a minimum of 2–7 business days before the desired release date.
  • JPXL Records is not responsible for publication delays caused by technical issues on the part of platforms or aggregators.

7. Reports

  • Reports are generated based on data from aggregators and digital platforms for the reporting period.
  • Report processing times vary by aggregator; final data typically arrives within 45–90 days after the end of the reporting month. This lag is normal.
  • If a release has no accruals for a reporting period, this is shown as a zero period or the absence of rows for that period.
  • JPXL Records is not responsible for discrepancies in aggregator data; if a User identifies a discrepancy they may submit a recalculation request.

8. Authorship data

  • For each track the User must provide complete authorship information: full name (or stage name) of the composer and lyricist, and each contributor's share of authorship rights (as percentages totalling 100%).
  • If a work is registered with a collective rights management organisation, it is recommended to provide the work's registration identifier and the author's identifier — these are needed for correct distribution of author royalties through international organisations.
  • Where a publisher is involved, their name and publishing share should be stated. Without accurate data, author royalties collected by collective management organisations may be distributed incorrectly or not at all.
  • The User is responsible for the accuracy of authorship, share, and publishing rights information.

9. Collective rights management

  • JPXL Records manages the master recording rights (phonogram producer's related rights) in the context of distribution. Royalty payments made by JPXL Records relate exclusively to master recording income.
  • Author royalties for public performance and digital reproduction are paid by digital platforms directly to accredited collective rights management organisations. These payments do not pass through JPXL Records and are not included in royalty calculations under these Terms.
  • If a User is the author of a work and wishes to receive author royalties through the collective management system, they must independently register their works with the appropriate collective management organisation.
  • If JPXL Records acts as publisher of a User's works, the collection and distribution of author and publishing royalties are governed by a separate publishing agreement.

10. Takedown

  • Users may request a takedown of a release from platforms. The actual removal time depends on the platform and aggregator and is typically 5 to 30 business days.
  • Accruals arising before the takedown date are processed in reports in the normal way.
